17 August 2026
Your super finished the financial year on a stronger note.
After a volatile start to 2026, investment markets recovered during the April to June quarter, helping GuildSuper investment options deliver positive returns.
Earlier this year, global markets were unsettled by conflict in the Middle East, rising energy prices and concerns about inflation. As the situation stabilised and energy prices eased, investor confidence returned and share markets recovered much of the ground lost earlier in the year.
How your super performed
All GuildSuper investment options delivered positive returns during the June quarter as investment markets rebounded. The MySuper Building Lifestage option grew 8.01% over the quarter while the MyMix Growth option gained 7.31%.
Growth investment options generally benefited most from the strong recovery in global share markets, while more conservative options continued to provide steadier returns through their exposure to defensive assets.

Why did your super bounce back?
Several factors helped markets recover during the June quarter.
Tensions in the Middle East eased, though the situation remains unstable, reducing concerns about global energy supplies and helping oil prices fall from earlier highs during the quarter. Lower energy prices also eased some pressure on inflation and the cost of living, giving investors greater confidence about the economic outlook.
Global share markets led the recovery, supported by strong company earnings and continued investment in new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI). Australian shares also finished the quarter higher, although they didn't rise as strongly as overseas markets.
Because GuildSuper invests across a wide range of companies, industries and asset classes, members were able to benefit from the broader market recovery rather than relying on the performance of any one investment.
Markets don't move in straight lines
It’s natural to pay more attention to your super when investment markets are making headlines.
But one of the most important things to remember is that investment markets rarely move in one direction for long. Periods of uncertainty are a normal part of investing, and they can be followed by surprisingly strong recoveries, just as we've seen over the past three months.
While nobody can predict exactly when markets will rise or fall, history shows that staying focused on your long-term goals is often more effective than reacting to short-term market movements. Your super is designed to support you over many years, not just one quarter.
