Understanding the changes

Why are these changes happening?

Behind the scenes, GuildSuper is becoming part of Smart Future Trust (a larger investment structure). This change is being made, to strengthen GuildSuper for the future by supporting lower overall fees for most members, providing a refreshed range of investment options and giving members the benefits of increased scale. The GuildSuper brand is not going anywhere.

What is Smart Future Trust?

Smart Future Trust is the investment structure behind the scenes that will support GuildSuper following the transfer. Currently, the investment structure behind GuildSuper is the Guild Retirement Fund.

You will continue to be a GuildSuper member. The change is to the investment structure that sits behind your account.

What is a Successor Fund Transfer?

A Successor Fund Transfer (SFT) is the legal process being used to move your GuildSuper account from the Guild Retirement Fund to the Smart Future Trust (these are the legal fund structures that sit behind your account).

Strict rules apply to an SFT to help protect members and their retirement savings. Specifically, the transfer can only go ahead if the Trustee is satisfied that members will receive equivalent rights and that the transfer is in members’ best financial interests.

After the transfer, you’ll remain a member of GuildSuper. You’ll manage your account the same way you always have, with the same team continuing to support you.

Why was this approach chosen?

The Trustee believes becoming part of a larger investment structure will help strengthen GuildSuper over the long term while continuing to support members with competitive fees, quality service and investment options.

Will my account balance change because of the transfer?

No. The transfer itself will not reduce your account balance or change the amount of money you have in your GuildSuper account. Your balance will continue to move up or down as it normally does due to investment performance, contributions, fees and any withdrawals.

Your GuildSuper membership

Am I still a GuildSuper member?

Yes. You will continue to be a GuildSuper member after the transfer.

Will my member and account numbers change?

No. You will keep your existing member and account numbers.

Can I still use Member Online and the GuildSuper app?

Yes. You can continue using your Member Online account and app as you do today and your login details will remain the same.

During the transfer period, you will be able to log in and view your account. Some member-initiated changes will be temporarily paused from 4-14 September.

Can I still contact Member Services?

Yes. Our Member Services team will continue supporting you before, during and after the transfer. Our contact details remain the same too.

Will I still have access to financial coaching?

Yes. You will continue to have access to our financial coaching service.

Will I still have access to 360Health?

Yes. You will continue to have access to the 360Health wellbeing program.

What is happening to SuperSuper?

SuperSuper is closing to new activations after 10 September 2026 while we undertake a review of the program.

If you have already activated SuperSuper, you can continue to grow your super savings by using it in accordance with the program terms and conditions.

Your fees

Will my fees change?

Yes. Most members are expected to pay lower overall fees following the transfer. Some individual fee components will change, but for most members the overall cost of their account will reduce.

Why are some fees changing?

We are updating our fee structure to reflect the arrangements of the new fund and support GuildSuper over the long term. These changes are designed in members’ best financial interests and will see most members pay lower fees overall.

Why will I see some fees on my account that I did not see before?

Some administration fees that were previously reflected in investment returns will now appear as transactions on your account. This makes it easier to understand what you are paying.

Investments

Will my investment option change?

Investment options are being refreshed. We will automatically move your account to the investment option that is the most comparable to the one you are already invested in.

Can I choose a different investment option?

Yes. You can choose another available investment option if it better suits your needs. To do so, log into your member online portal or app after 14 September and select a new investment option or mix of investment options you want your super invested in.

Why are the investment options changing?

The refreshed investment menu provides more choice and better aligns investments with members at different stages of life.

What is a LifeStage option?

A LifeStage option is an investment option that changes over time based on your age. It generally has more exposure to growth assets when you are younger and gradually becomes more defensive as you get closer to and move through retirement.

Can I get advice about my investment options?

Yes. If you need help understanding your options, our financial coaching service can help explain how your super works, the investment options available to you and provide you with personal advice about what option is right for you based on your circumstances. This information and advice is available to members at no extra cost.

The Coach team also provides advice to members about pensions and pension benefits, for an additional fee.

Insurance

Will my insurance cover change?

No. Your insurance cover and policy terms remain the same.

The insurance administration fee will however increase, which means the overall cost of your insurance will be slightly higher.

Why is my insurance cost changing?

The insurance administration fee is increasing, which means the total cost of your insurance will increase.

Do I need to reapply for insurance?

No. Your existing cover will continue.

Can I change or cancel my insurance?

Yes. You can review or change your insurance through Member Online, subject to the normal insurance rules. The temporary pause to member-initiated transactions from 4-14 September also applies to insurance changes.

Employer contributions

Does my employer need to know about these changes?

Yes. Your employer will need to use GuildSuper's new ABN and USI for any contributions made from 5 September 2026.

  • If your employer uses GuildSuper as their default super fund, we will contact them directly where possible with the new details.

  • If your employer does not use GuildSuper as their default super fund, you should provide them with the new fund details.

  • If you’re not sure, or your employer asks for the new details, you can find them on the Member Support Hub or send a pre-filled email to your employer.

The USI is changing because the investment structure behind the scenes is changing – the Guild Retirement Fund is closing and your account is being transferred to the Smart Future Trust.

What details should I share with my employer?

If your employer asks for GuildSuper’s new fund details, you can copy them from below or send our pre-filled email.

Product Name: GuildSuper

New Fund: Smart Future Trust

New ABN: 68 964 712 340

New USI: 68964712340020

What happens if my employer uses the old fund details?

If your employer uses GuildSuper's old fund details for contributions made from 5 September 2026, they will receive an error message advising them to update the fund details. They may then ask you for GuildSuper's new ABN and USI. If they do, you can copy the details from the Member Support Hub or send a pre-filled email to your employer .

Will contributions continue to be paid to my account?

Yes, provided your employer uses GuildSuper's new ABN and USI for contributions made from 5 September 2026.

If your employer uses the old fund details, they will receive an error message asking them to update the details.

During the transfer

Do I need to do anything?

We’ll take care of moving your account and investments.

You may need to provide your employer with our new details if we’ve not been able to contact them or if they ask you for them.

If there is anything you need to do, we will contact you directly.

Can I still access my account during the transfer?

Yes. You will continue to be able to log in to Member Online and the GuildSuper app throughout the transfer period to view your account.

From 4-14 September, some member-initiated transactions, such as investment switches and withdrawals, will be temporarily unavailable while we complete the transfer.

What transactions will be temporarily unavailable?

From 4-14 September, some member-initiated transactions, including investment switches and withdrawals, will be temporarily unavailable while we complete the transfer.

Why are transactions being paused?

A short pause helps us safely complete the transfer and ensure all member information and account balances are transferred accurately.

What happens after the transfer?

Once the transfer is complete, services will resume as normal from 14 September.

After the transfer

Why will I receive an exit statement?

We will send you an exit statement because it is required by law whenever a super account transfers to another fund, even though in this case the change is only happening behind the scenes and you’ll remain a member of GuildSuper. The exit and welcome letters are formalities to confirm that your GuildSuper account, including your account balance, has successfully become part of Smart Future Trust. You do not need to do anything when you receive it - it is simply for your records.

Why will I receive a welcome letter?

We will also send you a welcome letter confirming that your GuildSuper account has successfully become part of Smart Future Trust. It includes information about your account going forward. You do not need to do anything when you receive it - it is simply a formality to confirm that your account has transferred successfully.

Where can I get more help?

If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, our Member Services team is here to help. You can also watch the video overview, visit the Member Support Hub or speak with our financial coaching team.

Pensions

Will my pension payments continue during the transfer?

Yes. If you receive pension payments from GuildSuper, we’ll manage payment timing around the transfer. Some payments may be made earlier than usual. More details are available here.

If this affects you, there’s nothing you need to do.

Will my pension payment date change?

Some pension payments may be made earlier than usual.

If you receive pension payments twice monthly, your payment scheduled for 10 September 2026 will be paid earlier, on Monday 7 September 2026. Your regular payment schedule will resume on 24 September 2026.

You don’t need to do anything.

Why am I receiving an additional pension payment?

If an additional pension payment is needed to meet your minimum pension payment requirement for the 2026/27 financial year, it will be paid on Monday 7 September 2026.

You don’t need to do anything.

Can I make a withdrawal during the transfer?

From 4–14 September, some member-initiated transactions, including withdrawals and investment switches, will be temporarily unavailable while we complete the transfer.

If you’re planning to make a withdrawal, please review the key dates and submit your request before the temporary pause in member-initiated transactions begin on 4 September.
